Spring 2016 - Stroud Subscription Rooms

Spring 2016

Concert - Stroud Subscription Rooms, Sunday March 6th at 7:30pm

Repertoire: Full symphonic concert by SCYO, featuring Bizet's Symphony in C

Built in 1833, the fabulously oppulent Regency-period Subscription Rooms were purpose-built for public concerts, and during the year hosts numerous concerts ranging from orchestras to choirs, comedians to famous bands. SCYO will be performing a full symphonic concert with an interval in this stunning venue with brilliant acoustics. The second half of the concert will feature a second performance of Bizet's Symphony in C - a brilliant work written by the then 17 year old Bizet studying composition at the Paris Conservatoire.

The first half of the concert is guaranteed to please the orchestra - they'll be choosing the music. During the Autumn 2015 course the orchestra will be suggesting and voting on the pieces which will form the first half of the concert. There will be an overture, and either a concerto or a programmatic piece to make up the first half - watch this space for details!

The SCYO Spring 2016 course will be on the following dates
